Many of you may have noticed over the past few weeks that new content has quickly and suddenly stopped being posted to our news section, and our reviews section has also been suffering. Well, this is due largely to a few reasons, for of which, involves me getting old.....wink.
I've come to place in my life where its time to drop off the Tracklists.ca name, I've been working with it and pushing it for the last 3.5 years. What started out as a side project to provide track lists catalogs quickly turned into a much larger project. We added an online Radio not long after our inception and at our peak maintained over 200 radio shows monthly.
Those days are gone, as we turned our focus towards scene news and reviews of newly released music by artists we've loved to support over the years. We've had some great content in the past months, but I just don't have it in me to continue.
I've got a dedicated staff member that's proven to be extremely resourceful and devoted, to Aaron I am very grateful.
This sudden announcement has even managed to shock me, it's been coming, and I've tried to push it off, but its time for me to move onto other projects, I've loved every minute I've spent on the site.

You can easily become part of the staff team, and do as you please with the site. There is a large potential for profit, we usually average about $100/month is sales revenue and ad sales. If you'd like to outright buy the entire lot, let me know, I'm willing to let this go for any reasonable offer.
Cheers to all, and I'm sure we'll be seeing each other around!
Well, its that time of the year again: Time for the leaked DJ Mag top 100 Dj Poll results! This year was notable more quiet than last's, seeing as there were no voting controversies this time around. However, there was a considerable shake up in the top 30 from last year, but the top 3 were just as predictable as always.
Armin van Buuren took top spot, with Tiesto in second....followed by Paul van Dyk. Rounding out the top 5 are Above & Beyond and french house sensation David Guetta!
Designed to enhance the Pioneer HDJ series, these sleekly designed,
top-flight headphones touch down with several new innovations to reach
new levels of sound quality, comfort and durability.
First up, the HDJ-2000s’ high-quality frequency response is optimised for pro DJ use and ensures superb clarity with clear separation. This applies to any demanding environment, whether it’s performing in a packed club or engineering in a studio. In fact, the HDJ-2000s’ 50 mm driver units and high-flux magnets create outstanding resolution, from bass to treble, and are ideal for studio applications.
Yet another neat feature is the capacity for 3,500 mW of input, which
means distortion is prevented, even at sustained loud volumes. The
heavy-duty build of these headphones ensures zero resonance.
Sporting a rugged but lightweight magnesium swivel/fold mechanism the headphones are robust, comfortable and compact to transport.
Each ear-cup gives excellent insulation and swivels a full 90 degrees
using a new i-hinge with auto-return, which presents great flexibility,
especially for DJs who prefer the ‘on-shoulder’ method of monitoring.
To improve monitoring, there is also a convenient STEREO/MONO switch.
Finally, heat-sensitive, low-rebound urethane-foam (memory-foam)
padding with a comfortable protein leather* surface cushions the ears
and head for a no-fatigue fit. The HDJ-2000s are not only the perfect
partner for our Pioneer DJM mixers but even feature a stylish aluminium
outer finish to match the play/cue buttons on our Pioneer CDJ players.
"Beatport would like to thank you for your participation in our affiliate
program. Unfortunately, we have made a business decision to shut down the
Beatport Affiliate Program."
Its come as quite a shock to many affiliates, and frankly, none of us are all too impressed. There are, I am sure, hundreds of sites that make use of Beatport's catalog to generate revenue, and for now at least, it seems that is no longer the case. Our contact at the company is no longer employed either, so this leaves us high and dry, with over 10 000 links to songs in Beatport's catalog, completely useless!
Does anyone else have more details on what's going on? Are they coming back, in a different form?
"BBC Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce is to leave the station, it has been announced.
Pearce, who has been with Radio 1 since 1995, said it was "time to move on" and was working on some new radio projects. "It's been an incredible 13 years at Radio 1 - I would like to thank
the teams who have worked with me for making it such fun," he said.
Pearce will be leaving the station along with Eddie Halliwell in
October as part of a series of changes to the station's evening
schedule.
"Of all the shows I've presented Dance Anthems is the one I'm most
proud of creating and I am delighted that even in our recent late night
slot we increased our audience," Pearce added. Ben Cooper, Radio 1's head of programmes said: "I'd like to thank both
Dave and Eddie for their commitment to Radio 1 and wish them all the
very best for the future."
The changes come as part of Radio 1's new evening line-up, which sees
new shows for dance DJs Kissy Sell Out and Kutski, amongst others."
Wow, its quite the shock to many, especially since Eddie was such a stellar DJ and had a unique show that really challenged the limits.

DJs, remixers and producers on the forefront of technology, watch
out. Serato and Ableton are happy to announce a partnership which will
pave the way for the future of Digital DJing. With shared artist
rosters from hip-hop (DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Nu-Mark, A-Trak) to electronica
(Paul Van Dyk, DJ Sasha), both Ableton Live and Serato Scratch Live are
renowned as the premier performance platforms in clubs around the
globe. While Serato's Scratch Live excels in vinyl emulation, music
library control and lightning quick hands-on scratching, Ableton Live
provides the tools for production, on-the-fly remixing and beat
creation.
"Ableton and Serato take different approaches to modern musical
performance," says Ableton CEO Gerhard Behles, "But both companies live
by the philosophy that software should be straightforward, easy to use,
and most importantly, reliable and stable onstage and in the studio.
Ableton has never had an answer for the DJ who wants vinyl control, and
rather than try to emulate what Serato do so well, we simply make sure
that our products work well together."
Serato Audio Research CEO Steve West agrees. "After years of talking
together, we're thrilled to be working with Ableton. It's exciting to
think about what we can offer to DJs and producers: the ability to go
beyond just spinning records and add a personal stamp to the music they
play."
Just where this Serato and Ableton collaboration will take us has
yet to be seen but one thing is clear: the worlds of DJing, remixing
and production for artists worldwide have changes ahead.
2008 was a busy
year for Cosmic Gate, touring alround the globe, being on up to three continents
in one month. But they didn't neglect their studio duties: Their work on the
next Cosmic Gate artist album is almost done.
It's rather astonishing, and I'm always amazed, at the work put into these albums, while the artists trot the globe DJing and the like. Kudos to them, and we're looking forward to hearing the new album. Boys, if you're listening, we'll gladly take a copy for reviewing purposes....
